4me4you features - “The Sway of Form”.

4me4you recently had the opportunity to explore The Sway of Form, a captivating exhibition at the Gillian Jason Gallery that brings together a powerful cross-generational group of female and non-binary artists. This thoughtfully curated show reimagines the language of Abstraction through a diverse array of mediums, techniques, and voices.

Featured Artists: Isabella Amram, Megan Baker, Helen Bermingham, Judy Chicago, Sadie Clayton, Pippa El-Kadhi Brown, Hollis Heichemer, Catherine Long, Manon Steyaert, Raine Storey, Berenice Sydney, Milan Young

The Sway of Form unites artists whose practices span decades and disciplines, yet all share a deep, expressive engagement with Abstraction.

Whether through gestural impasto brushwork, intuitive mark-making, or sculptural surfaces shaped from silicon, each piece in the exhibition offers a dynamic interplay of movement, texture, and form.

The works are rooted in varied inspirations—ranging from the rhythm of dance and the fluidity of fashion to personal memory and classical art history—demonstrating how abstraction remains a powerful conduit for exploring emotion, identity, and the contemporary condition.

Central to the exhibition is a sense of physicality: a raw, tactile relationship between the artist and their materials.

By placing pioneering figures like Judy Chicago and Berenice Sydney alongside emerging voices, The Sway of Form not only honors the lineage of abstraction but also reveals its ongoing evolution.

The result is a vibrant, sensory-rich conversation—one that resists easy categorisation and invites viewers into a space of intuitive, visceral engagement.
