A small contribution... -[ SoS ]-
UC San Diego 1999-2000 General Catalog. Updated annually until online tools rendered physical copies obsolete, this was the must-have reference for every student.
Even though it had been a long while since I graduated from and, a year later, became a full-time staffer at this innovative institution, I obtained, and saved, this copy for one reason only: a small contribution of mine to the cover art. Someone from the Registrar's office contacted my department to request, promptly forwarded to me, a reel of movie film for a photoshoot. The department could supply a reel of 16mm film, something I felt would be inadequate. Since I had already amassed a decent collection of 35mm films and supplies. I suggested using 35mm instead for greater impact. I brought in a full reel for the photographer to use. After a long wait upon getting the reel back, I finally saw the results, sitting on the letter g of the word catalog.
