-[ Z is for Zerk Fitting ]-

Technically named grease fittings, these commonplace check valve-equipped grease gun attachments were nicknamed for their inventor, Osacar Zerk, who improved on a earlier fitting design to create a standard still in use to this day, over 95 years since their debut.

Trying to come up with an unusual Z item, these fittings popped up in my mind early on. I knew I had some, but where I put them was a mystery to me given those synapses that don't fire as reliably as they once did. While digging through a workbench drawer the day of the photo session looking for parts for a project I'd put on hold to devote time to FAFM, I happened upon what you see here. I hadn't planned on using the green protective covers, but difficulty getting the fittings to stand up led to using the covers as supports. The layout, in keeping with the letter of the day, was an evolution of the layout thanks to the tethers on the covers and the number of fittings.

This post closes the book on my third year of participation in FAFM. Again, kudos to both RevDrPepper for this year's edition and the invitation, and to all for your views, faves, and comments. Again, with this Z item, It's time to sign off and cut some Zzzzzs.
