FDT #318 (tall fortress)

It's actually an old water tower and it's located on a nearby cemetary. It's not in use anymore.

 

The symmetry is always harder to achieve than it first looks like. I got the framing to what you see relatively easily, but it also might seem like easy because what came after it. And yes... Even the framing is not quite as symmetrical as I would like, but I think it is actually pretty much as symmetrical as the building itself is. (In reality very few things are just that perfect anyway... I think that this building is actually remarkably perfect for something that was built in 1930's.)

 

But then... The hard part: Placing myself in to the frame, face down within the limits of the 10 second timer and trying not to break the symmetry too badly while doing so. It only took 14 times to get it good enough. (although one of them was deliberately not symmetrical.) The distance from the camera was probaly over 5 meters and those stairs are really steep. I could get to the spot fine but there was really no time for fine tuning my position.

 

The best position for the shadow the pillar on the left casts to the center was on two takes and about two minutes before this.
