Improving Pre and Post-Natal care in Nepal
Doctors of the World run health education sessions to raise awareness among women about antenatal care and the importance of giving birth in a health facility. We also train medical staff to improve the care provided to women and newborns during labour.
Combining micro-credit and health not only enables the women to borrow money to generate their own income and businesses, but also to pay for transport to hospital if complications arise during childbirth.
