Bottoms Up! Rhyton Rendering
Like the ancient Persian drinking vessel, this Rhyton demands that its user "hold his liquor".
Classic rhytons incorporated sculpted animal imagery, including a ram or bull head to indicate the manliness of their user. This modern iteration uses a pure, abstracted phallus to replace the manly iconography of the ram's head and to allow the cup to be put down ONLY on its rim, empty.
This solidworks rendering is a precursor to the final, porcelain pieces, available in fall from Losantiville Kunstwerkhaus, our collaborative design studio and retail site in Cincinnati, OH.
