Throughout the country sections with their many steep stretches we had a diesel loco attached as a pilot. We were able to detach it for short run pasts so the video makers could see a complete steam-hauled train pass. Here at the triangular Perandeniya junction station our train reversed for the short trip up to Kandy. This 'arrival' shot from the Kandy direction shows the fine array of signals and the Buddha at the end of the platform.
