VIRUS-P Spectrograph
The Visible Integral-field Replicable Unit Spectrograph - Prototype, aka. VIRUS-P, now officially known as the George Mitchell Spectrograph (GMS). This is a fiber-fed spectrograph - 192 of these will be in parallel, simultaneous operation on the Hobby-Eberly Telescope (HET) this summer as part of the HET-DEX (Dark Energy eXperiment). The gold bottle on the instrument is a cryogenic dewar, storing LN2 to keep the detector cooled to -165C.
