Treasured Memories

My grandmother used to have a sewing tin which was a recycled cookie tin. I remember I used to love peeking in and be fascinated by what I would find inside. Not only all sorts of sewing treasures, but other curious things like bits of paper, coins, keys, bits of candles, very short color pencils and photos of old. Today I was rummaging thru my shelves and saw my grandma’s tin. I never allowed it to be thrown away when she passed. I kept it as is. And it’s still exactly like the way she left it. This was what inspired “Treasured MEMORIES”.

 

“Treasured MEMORIES” is a rustic collection of nick nacks … a miniature book, an old key, different stones … some shiny, some not so, antique brass chains, fiber, coffee stained paper, bits of old lace and leather, all put together to form a chunky bracelet from yesteryears.

 

*the miniature book is handmade by me and measures 2cm x 3cm

*the papers in the miniature book are coffee stained

*the bracelet measures 7.5 inches in length

*the back is secured by a giant lobster clasp
