the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.
2.
(sometimes initial capital letter) an organized movement for the attainment of such rights for women.
i believe that feminism is as important today as it was decades ago, and i also believe that women can do anything men can, and a few things they can't.
However, my particular brand of feminism holds that while men and women are equals, and therefore deserve equal opportunity and respect, this does not mean mean and women are the SAME. 2+2 = 3+1 but they're not the same. Men and women have some important differences, but this does not mean that women are weaker or less able to do and be in the world.
P.s. Rosie the Riveter rocks. So do t-shirts with the Super "s" emblazoned across my rack!
