This building is the oldest surviving building in South Carolina. It was built in 1717 in Charleston. It was built by the settlers to hold their gun powder supply. It was also used during the Revolutionary War by the Americans to keep their powder until the British took Charleston and then they moved it. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on Jan 5, 1972.
