1964 Austin WE recovery truck, Siparia, Trinidad

The Austin K-series trucks were a major competitor of Bedford from 1948 until the line ended in 1968. While similar in design and powered by a strong 4.0 six and a rock-solid three-speed box, the Austins suffered from lesser build quality and also cost more than the equally capable Bedford TJ. This one is seen near Siparia rusting after a life of service as a wrecker
