Camera module is just glued to supporting base and can be simply peeled off.

 

As you can see the module is much smaller than M12 lens.

Probably a good idea for sports use would be re-doing the whole thing in a new body (e.g. pipe) with proper M12 mount, bigger battery and other extras.

 

Now i just need to test various performance aspects, like day, dusk/dawn, shake.
