Escapees from the Monsanto business...... refugees living currently in the UK..

“Our agriculture is based on biodiversity, on quality " ... Italian Govt.statement.

[ I am sure that those of you who ranch or farm will understand far more on this subject than I do ]

These cobs remind me happily of time spent in the Museums in Tucson, Arizona where examples were shown of very early corn cobs from the Apache and Papago area.

Far more time was spent out on the land :)

We have been altering our crops for centuries to our advantage and to our detriment...

From a book named " Adventures in the Apache Country ",

........written by J. Ross Browne in 1864

"As far back as our knowledge of the Papago people extends, they have been a peaceable, industrious, and friendly race.

They live here, San Xavier del Bacas, [ southern Tucson area ] as they lived two centuries ago, by cultivating the low grounds in the vicinity. This they make wonderfully productive by a system of irrigation.

Wheat, corn, pumpkins, and pomegranates are the principle articles of subsistence raised by these Peoples and they seem to enjoy an abundance of everything necessary for health and comfort."
