Jerónimos Monastery

The Jerónimos monastery is a still active monastery but only some parts can be visited by tourists. It's a prime example of late gothic architecture and is a world heritage sign.

 

As you can see by the queue it's best to arrive later in the day. One hour for visiting is enough and the light is better anyway. There's no queue left after 4pm.
