Lane Genealogies
This is the most precious book on my bookshelf, and probably the oldest... 1902. It is the story of my Father's family, the Lane family... three brothers, Job, James and Edward, who came to America from Rickmansworth, England. I will be forever indebted to Jame Hill Fitts for compiling all of the historical documents and anecdotes about the Lane family.
I found this book at Goodspeeds Antique Bookstore in Boston many years ago. I heard from a family member that there were 12 volumes written about the Lane family and that Volume III was the one to look for, because one of the last families listed in it is my grandfather's family. It was such a thrill to see his name and birthdate... Chester Leroy Lane... b. June 5, 1886. It confirms to me that all the people and stories in this book are about my direct ancestors.
