Returning Light After Dropping off Boxcar at Aetna Plywood 11th Street Rockford IL October 11 2019
My timing was perfect to capture CN making a relatively rare delivery to Aetna Plywood. Aetna Plywood is on a former section of a Chicago Milwaukee & Gary (CM&G) lead which later became part of the Milwaukee Road and is now serviced by CN off its Rockford East Belt.
The signs refer to the tight clearance along the former Flying Saucer Motel which was straddled by the IC and MILW on either side at one time. Now it is the Sunset Motel and its old neon signs are gone.
