The track were abandoned at this point and the warehouse was being redeveloped. My understanding is that the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel received boxcar loads of newsprint from the C&NW here which were then trucked to their printing press.
That business ended when the Journal Sentinel built their new printing press in West Milwaukee off the Menomonee Belt. But that press has since closed and newspapers are now trucked up from Peoria, IL.
