Laure Prouvost ( ° Croix, 1978 ) is a French artist who works with video art, installations and also paints. In her work Prouvost investigates the existing connections between language, image and perception. Language, in the broadest sense of the word, plays an important role in her work and she sees it as a tool for the imagination. The octopus appears as the symbol of these shifting and polymorphous exchanges. "The octopus represents the animal and physical connection that we have lost. We are different protagonists in this world and the tentacles connect us, blend our personalities and our different cultures."
