Active; focal plane 31 m (102 ft); directional light, white, red, or green depending on direction, occulting once every 10 s. 17 m (56 ft) round cylindrical steel tower with lantern and gallery, painted orange-red with a darker band at the base; lantern painted white. The Anke/Jens site has a fine photo, Trabas has a closeup, and Google has a satellite view. Located on the dunes about 15 km (9 mi) southwest of Den Helder, marking the approach to the Zeegat van Texel, the historic entrance to the Zuider Zee. Site open, tower closed.
