Right-lateral offset (surface slip) of 1.5 to 2.6 m (about 5 to 8.5 ft) occurred along this section of the Homestead Valley fault in the 1992 Landers earthquake; the Emerson fault also slipped in the Landers earthquake, about 0.5 m in sections in this view, but much greater amounts farther to the northwest (up to about 6 m). Emerson Lake is near the middle-left of the image. Included in the background in this image are the West Calico Fault (from about 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock) and the Bullion Fault (at top of image).
