Its Only 365 Days
83: BEGINNING OF THE END
83: SUNDAY, JANUARY 9, 2011
As with all workout programs I begin, the beginning is always ripe with constant internal complaining. I whine, I beg, I plead with myself not to do whatever healthy activity I'm supposed to be doing. Its the classic devil vs. angel shoulder conversation, but thankfully, my little angel is a pretty tough cookie.
Case in point. It was around 10:30pm here in hallwayville. I'd just gotten my new 24 hour gym membership card to this new gym that my brother recommended. Small place, self-run, wonderful. Anywho, day one had been a good one. I'd gotten in my first workout and I was amped, but day 2 along came my lil devil telling me oh, just take a day off, you'll go again tomorrow. But I know me, and the me that knows me knows that if I don't stick to it everyday all day, its not going to work, so off I went to the gym late night. I actually found 2 other people working out there, but none of us paid the other any attention.
So I'm chugging along on an incline when I get this nasty twinge in my back. I of course, being the dumbass that I am, ignore it and get into that no pain, no gain mode. I start thinking about the future and how I'd laugh about this crappy second workout on down the road.
Well, I'm not really laughing because my back is a hot mess. It hurts to sit, to stand, to lie down. Everything hurts. I'm stiff as a board trying to guard against more pain...the works....Damn it, day 2 and a mofo is down! LOL!
