Sonoran desert, Pima County, Arizona.
Due to extreme heat (greater than 100-degrees), the blossoms are rapidly drying up and tumbling to the ground.
Two hikers visiting the area have died in recent days, unaware of the danger of venturing outside for extended periods. I limit my forays to early morning (before 8:00 a.m.).
