He's just had a nice soak and is shiny from me trickling warm water over his shell-he loves it. He was adopted about 18 months ago and has nearly doubled in size but the pyramiding has stopped. He's a great guy-sulcata are great pets if you have the time, space, money and motivation to keep what is basically a gorilla with a shell. You can easily see one of the spurs on his back legs, hence, the common name of African spurred tortoise.
