Lieutenant WILFRED ALAN HERBERT ELLERCAMP was killed in a flying accident at Hornchurch on 30 December 1918 while serving with 44 Squadron RAF. He is buried in St Andrew’s Churchyard, Hornchurch and remembered on the war memorial at St Augustine’s church, Grove Park.
He was the only son of H Ellercamp of the India Office. His death was announced in Flight (the journal of the Royal Aeronautical Club) on 23 January 1919
