Mausoleum at Delaval Hall c. 1906

Pictured around 1906. This view is clearer and taken from a different angle to my other picture of this beautiful building featured on my photostream - www.flickr.com/photos/36891793@N08/6277115097/in/photostream

I have been told that the columns holding up the portico are in one piece are were turned on a lathe? The building was originally accessed by a drawbridge over the moat. The wrought iron brackets that supported this drawbridge are still set into the stonework.

It's well known that the building was never used for it's intended purpose and that it fell victim to thieves and vandals during the last 50 years sadly.

Lets hope something can be done with the building in the future.
