Equally, the thought nowadays of using someone known as 'Two Ton Tessie" to advertise products is likely to be frowned upon! - Tessie O'Shea (1913 - 1995) was a Welsh entertainer who at the time was at the height of her fame.
But, tucked away in the advert, is a hint of a 'new world' - steel once again available for post-war use, new plastic coverings - and for many of the soon to expand 1950s middle classes, garden furniture to buy and a garden to use it in.
