Edinburgh City Transport - Time to spare? ; Take a Tour leaflet : 1961 : inner fold : tours

In the late 1950s and early 1960s the marketing of Edinburgh's municipal transport department and its services underwent something of a revolution when it came to graphic design. They frequently issued some rather clever little pieces and this, for the City Tours services from 1961, is one of them. This leaflet was issued annually, this for 1961 in orange and that for the folllowing year, 1962, in red.

A City Tour driver consults his watch whilst to emphasis the point stands as the hour glass in timer. Inside the main types of tours are listed ranging from the 'full works', to short or local tours. Also listed, interestingly, are a series of Industrial Tours operated during the Festival period. In the '60s the City Tours only operated from May to September.

No artist is given, sadly, and this was printed in the city by Waddie's.
