One of a number of occassional leaflets issued by the Birmingham printing company James Upton and each featuring a specific typeface or family of typefaces. This, issue 6 from October 1951, highlights the Rockwell family of typefaces that was first issued in 1934 by the Monotype Corporation. The cenre pages show various examples of Rockwell including the Light, Medium Condensed, Bold, Bold Condensed and Shadow as well as examples of machine composition using the typeface.
It was Monotype that also issued Plantin in 1913, a typeface that is named after a Sixteenth Century printer and that is based on an typeface cut in that century by Granjon.
