Relocated history.

Plaque for the statue of Kornel Ujejski.

This statue was made in 1901 according to the design of sculptor Antoni Popiel. Initially it stood in L'wow (current day Lviv, Ukraine) on Akademicka St. It was unveiled in Szczecin in 1956. On the pedestal there is a lyre looped with chains and a work by Kornel Ujejski entitled "Chorale" dedicated to the peasant's revolt in Galicja in 1846. On the back there is an inscription, the poet's message" "Be Happy my Compatriots."
