Impressions of a Wild Guy .... Merganser...Goosander
Taken during a beautiful Walk last Sunday - Spring Temperatures suddenly, 13 C.... (now its minus 5 C again ... brrrr)
The Common Merganser (North American) or Goosander (Eurasian) Mergus merganser is a large duck, of rivers and lakes of forested areas of Europe, northern and central Asia, and North America. It eats fish and nests in holes in trees.
Like the other mergansers, these fish-feeding ducks have serrated edges to their bills to help them grip their prey; they are therefore often known as "sawbills". (Wikipedia)
It was nice to watch him swimming around, pretty fast, much faster than the ducks - and a bit like a guy in puberty was he kind of "showing his muscles" and scared the ducks by attacking them all of a sudden...
.... and this seemed to really amuse him - he looked so complacent every time he was successfull there.
SOOC, besides some sharpness added
