Thingaweek 51: My Still Life
A cup of tea and some knitting. It's my still life in more ways than one.
There are some times when life's physical, mental or emotional storms threaten to capsize you. Personally, at those times I find I can't stop the constant fretting over what has been and worrying over what is to come. For a quarter of a century now my reaction has been to pick up my knitting. The gentle repetitive movement quietens my mind and lets me dwell, albeit temporarily, in the stillness of the present. My bit of still life.
