Metre gauge class 6521 DMU set (5524+6524) is seen at Aghios Anarghiri while working the 10.40 Loutraki to Piraeus. This station in the northern suburbs of Athens was once a junction for the metre gauge line to Lavrion which branched off turning south east from the north end of the station. The yard to the right was primarily a metre gauge yard but had a through standard gauge track off the mainline from Athens Larissa allowing freight to use the metre gauge route on dual gauge track as far as Elefsina. In more recent times the metre gauge Peloponnese line has closed leaving the route as a standard gauge freight only branch serving Elefsina and Piraeus Container Port.
