When this image was taken the 227 DB Class 111's were only allocated to three depots and their workload was very different between depots. The Frankfurt (Main) and München allocated locomotives we pretty much all mainline express work although as here München allocated locos did work a few secondary and semi fast services. The Düsseldorf allocated examples were pretty much exclusively used on Rhein-Rhur S-Bahn push pull suburban trains.
