Female Kingfisher captured this afternoon on a small lake in Somerset.
I have been very busy over the last couple of months building a Kingfisher hide at water level on this small lake in the hope of getting Kingfishers to feed in front of it, and today was the first day to sit in it and see what happens.
After a 4 hour wait this stunning little female showed up and did not disappoint she visited 4 times over a couple of hours and seemed very steady in front of the lens, did not seem worried when I rotated the lens around a bit from side to side (very slowly) just to try and get her used to it.
I had to pack up as I was not prepared for the huge drop in temperature and was frozen.
Watch this space as I hope there will be a lot more to come from this adventure.
