San Simeon Pier
This pier is used for recreational purposes today and was built in 1957. The original pier is no longer here, but it was used to transport goods to and from Cambria and Hearst Castle. Hearst used the pier to bring in building materials and supplies for the castle on top of the hill. Recent storms this year have closed the pier because of some damage. Normally, you can walk out to the end of the pier and fish or view the wildlife in the area. You can see whales when they are migrating if you are lucky. Great place to stop and visit off of Highway 1.
