I was told on the journey down to Dewsbury bus station from Dewsbury Bus Museum that I was on the first passenger carrying journey of this bus for 46 years, which would make this departure back to the museum it's second such journey. West Riding Automobile Company 640 is a 1948 vintage Leyland Titan PD2/1 with Leyland bodywork which was finally brought back to the road in 2012 after extensive restoration and is owned by the West Riding Omnibus Preservation Society. After withdrawal in 1967 it became driver trainer A13 until 1975 before being accquired for preservation.
