Chase Bus Services were well known to operate a large fleet of Leyland Nationals until very late on in public services with the South Staffordshire boundaries and into the West Midlands County areas of Wolverhampton and Walsall until been bought out by Arriva Midlands in late February 2007 and merged into the Cannock depot operation after operation on 27th April 2007.
We find one of the common types waiting time at Bloxwich before returning to Wolverhampton on the 560. Sadly the work taken on from Chase was mainly given up or lost over the years, Arriva did return to this area in force when the took over Choice Travel and added a Wednesfield depot, sadly that operation was later disbanded. Very sad to think as I post this in the last days of 2020 that Arriva's Cannock operation will shortly pass to D&G ownership under the Centrebus group, very sad end really such a once large operation will no longer be part of the Arriva network.
