GHA Coaches: YJ04 BVC, Knockin Heath
One thing I miss since the demise of GHA is the variety that could be found on offer and the sightings of the same vehicles over time appearing around the vast operating area.
This DAF SB120 / Wright Cadet was new to Pullman, Crofty which became part of Veolia Transport Cymru (via taking over smaller concerns) later passing to First Cymru with the Gower Explorer work. It arrived at GHA around April 2012 but only put into service in in the spring of 2014.
Here we find YJ04 BVC operate on route 576 Oswestry to Shrewsbury, working out of the Ruabon depot as it did the 576 until April 2016 when the route moved over to the Shrewsbury depot until the final demise.
I had sampled this example on this route a few days prior whilst doing a GHA Shropshire Ticket to work in Shrewsbury.
As a final note, the driver a long term Bryn Melyn employee prior to the GHA takeover can still be found hard at work on this route as he now works for ARRIVA Midlands, Oswestry depot who took this route back over.
