Surveillance cameras, Golden Gate Avenue between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets, San Francisco

These were positioned above the storefront where the Tenderloin Community Center was housed until July 1, when city budget cuts took effect. I suppose they were intended to discourage, or intimidate, the poor clients out of committing petty crimes. Well, petty crime does not pay.
