Eagle Point
DME 6073 leads train 682 on around a curve on the north side of Dubuque on a beautiful Sunday morning, with the DME 6090 and a whole bunch of what I believe are loaded sand hoppers in tow. At left is one of the abutments for the old Dubuque Eagle Point Bridge that was opened in 1902 and replaced by the current Dubuque-Wisconsin bridge in 1982.
I was in downtown Dubuque anyway this particular morning, and when I heard the crew get talked by MOW north of town I decided to grab a shot. Of the DME "Red Bombs," I don't mind this one so much with the bell and stripes.
