I call my OMD EM-5 my commuter because it's small enough to allow me to take it to work on a daily basis. I recently outfitted the camera with a Viltrox Nikon G to M4/3 focal length reducer and took it out for a spin on my walk to the train after work. The Nikon 35mm / f1.8 I attached has great sharpness and contrast capacity with the EM-5 body. I may just found my new "go-to" lens body combination. Looking forward to finding a 28mm Nikon to get the wide angle I so love for my street photography.
My review on the Viltrox focal length reducer is that it works. The adapter brings down the crop factor to X .71 but I'm most impressed with the bokeh I get (the extra f stop it yields). It forces you to slow down given the lack of autofocus functions. With the aperture control on the adapter itself, I've been shooting with the Program or Shutter Priority setting out in the street. I had forgotten how useful it is for composition to have the F stop adjustments on the lens. I can't lie, I miss relying on autofocus for the fast moments. But I'm thinking if manual focus was good enough for Bresson, it should be good enough for me. I'll update the review after three or more street sessions with this set up.
