Big boosters and mecha sand skis for high mobility in desert battlefields. Less stompy-stomp and more slidey-slide. Think Rick Dom or Votoms, but skiing on sand dunes.
I had a lot of difficulty with this one and I’m not entirely happy with the result. I’m in the middle of sorting my collection, but I thought that I could still pull off a small mech. Dealing with a partially sorted collection and your work area filled with sorting bins isn’t fun. The size limit was really tough for me. I originally wanted a mech with human like proportions with a lot of joints and articulations, so I mocked up a leg prototype and it turned out to be 6 bricks tall, so I had to do a drastic redesign, get a brand new approach, and make some compromises on the vision. A lot of the proportions on the mech kept getting squashed down to fit under the size limit until I ended up with this hulking, midget monstrosity. I ever do decide to make another 9 brick mech in the future I’ll have to go in with a drastically different mindset and approach.
Hopefully I can finish sorting and get back to more building. I still have a WIP and some ideas in my head. Hopefully I can get that Lego mojo back.
