Been photographing the Old World Swallowtail (Papilio machaon) before, on hot days. The beauties fly fast and far, so you can imagine me running and screaming '#€%&#€' trying to photograph this iconic species. Impossible.
Now this individual was shot on a cold(er), darker, windy day, 11°C. A lot more cooperative as you can see, though the shutter speed (1/100), despite the underexposure (-2 2/3 EV) and the wind, didn't make it easy getting a sharp image. Satisfied with this one. Happy Days!
