my beta fish

This is Beta, a beta fish that I bought two years ago. I had two beta fishes (one male and one female) many years ago, and they were my first beta fishes. Previous to obtaining Beta fishes, I thought that all fishes are the same-in terms of personality and living habits. But, I soon learned that beta fishes, especially male beta fishes, are fighter fishes which can not be put with other male beta fishes. However, unlike what I heard from other people, I find the pair of fishes I have (the male and female fish) also can not be put together, and when I do put them together, the male beta fish always tried to bite the female beta fish’s tail.

I find it so interesting to observe small living things around us and sometimes it can help me gain some insight in how we as human beings evolved.
