Watery World

Twice a day, (on average) the tides inundate this mangrove forest at Wynnum. This provides a haven for small fish and other marine creatures to find food in relative safety. When the water recedes, the root systems (pneumatophores) are exposed to take in oxygen from the air for their buried root system.
