Edward Gripper & Co., Albert Street & Mapperley Hill, Nottingham
Kelly's Nottinghamshire Directory 1855 - 1864
Edward Gripper founded the Company in 1852. In 1866 he amalgamated with William Burgass, another Nottingham brickmaker. In 1867 it became The Nottingham Patent Brick Co. Ltd.
Gripper's bricks were used in the construction of St.Pancras Station in London and in many other prestigious Victorian buildings.
