Space: 1999 Custom Maya
The Psychon Maya joined Space: 1999 in season 2. Played by the lovely Catherine Schell, Maya was a great character - even if season 2 became a little kitschy.
I had a hard time with Maya's distinctive "sideburns." On Catherine they were achieved with make-up. I cannot get painted versions on the doll to look right.
My favorite review of Maya stated that she was portrayed by Catherine Schell as "permanently tipsy."
This original doll (Anna from "The King and I" cartoon) was altered with paint and given a more exotic hairstyle. This was a test costume on a thicker fabric than the actual costumes. I need to update this to a softer fabric at some point. I took some liberties with the design as well.
