The Longest Game

"The Pawtucket Red Sox and Rochester Red Wings played baseball's longest game in 1981. The game began on the night of April 18(th) and both teams found themselves tied at 2-2 in the 32(nd) inning just after 4:00 AM in the morning, now April 19th. The game resumed on June 23(rd) in the 33rd inning and promptly ended when Marty Barrett scored the winning run on a hit by Dave Koza. It is still baseball's longest game in innings played (33) and in time (8 hours & 37 minutes).
