Pacifia goddardi & newly laid egg mass

This is a typical Flabellina egg mass. It was 14 mm in diameter. The uncleaved eggs averaged 65 microns in diameter, were packed one per capsule, and took 7 days at an average of 16 degrees C to develop into hatching veligers.

In September 2010, this species was named Flabellina goddardi by Terry Gosliner (Gosliner TM (2010) Two new species of nudibranch mollusks from the coast of California. Proceedings of the California Academy of Sciences 61:623-631).
